Position: Participant Services Administrator 
Location: Hale Barns, Altrincham (South Manchester)
Contract Type: Temporary / Part Time (22 hours per week, working core hours of 10am-3pm every day)
Salary: £7.85 / hour

Background:

Founded in 2007, Xtra Mile Events (www.xtramileevents.com) is a professional sports event management company which organises triathlons, duathlons and running events across the North West, Wales and Yorkshire. Our flagship event is the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon which in 2016 attracted over 12,000 runners and had an economic benefit of over £7million to the borough of Trafford. More recently, we have had the privilege of delivering the inaugural Manchester Half Marathon, held in October 2016.
Since April 2017, Xtra Mile Events have been part of Human Race – the UK’s largest mass participation event company, and in turn part of our parent company A.S.O, owners of the Tour de France.

 

Purpose of the Role:


Our community of participants is at the heart of Xtra Mile Events and we communicate with them in various different ways including e-comms, social media, telephone and digital. The Participant Services team make sure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved for every event participant; ensuring that customer experience matches the high level of brand experience that Xtra Mile Events are renowned for.
The role is varied, fast-paced, and at the heart of the day-to-day running of the company. We are looking for someone enthusiastic with a can-do attitude who has the skills and confidence to make a difference.

Description:
Want to join the team that organises the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon?

We’re recruiting a short term positions from Monday 12th March until Monday 9th April for the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon. The roles will be answering queries and calls on our traffic information line, along with other administration duties as required for the event.
You will be working at our offices in Hale Barns Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm. You will be given training and will need to be available to work on the weekend of the marathon (7th and 8th April).

EVENT CREW

To enable Xtra Mile Events to run safely, smoothly and professionally we require the regular assistance of a dedicated event crew which is responsible for marshalling, meeting and greeting, race results, catering and goody bag distribution.

Our main job is to ensure that people have fun at our events so a sense of humour and reliability is a must!

We are always on the look out for enthusiastic, energetic people who would like to be part of the Xtra Mile Events team.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for reliable and active individuals who are passionate about sport and have an interest in gaining the skills needed to pull off a successful event. Anyone will tell you that events are not glamorous; we want crew who are not afraid to get their hands dirty, who thrive on learning new things, who are great with people, like to have a laugh but are hard working at the same time and want to see the events be a success as much as we do!

Do I need qualifications?

We would love to hear from people with or in the process of getting sport or event management related qualifications, but mostly we want the right people, so don't let that shy you away from applying.
